Renjola Pass Gokyo Trek

A trek across high passes onto trails where you interact with the Sherpa community and learn of their interesting culture on the mountains….

The Everest, so well known as the Khumbu region is justifiably the most famous of all the trekking and mountain regions within Nepal. This is pure Sherpa country, and the attractions of this area are the majestic mountains, the high mountain hamlets, its charming and ever so peaceful monasteries; and yes, the congenial people who make the trip even more interesting. This area includes the highest mountain in the world, Everest (8,848m.) and many peaks of altitude 8000m., such as Lhotse, Cho Oyo and Makalu.

Trekking to Renjola Pass is a highly popular trail among trek lovers. A little off the main trekking trail, Thamo and Thame offer unique Sherpa culture where people have still maintained their traditional lifestyles. You can experience the local culture through home stay accommodation in cozy tea house lodges. Cultural groups perform shows for visi tors on request. In addition, you can explore the jungles near the settlements which shelter endangered wildlife species, like the musk deer and pheasants. The primary source of income down here is tourism which is much useful for the local economy in this region.
